Our Unity Augmented Reality SDK for Android and iOS has been a massive success among developers.
Our easy-to-use plugin allows you to create Image Recognition (IR) and Augmented Reality (AR) applications using the CraftAR service together with Unity3D.
We’ve just released a new version that takes your apps’ Augmented Reality capabilities to the next level by adding a feature for on-device AR tracking.
From now on, your users can scan items and enjoy Augmented Reality experiences even when they are offline.
The SDK allows you to perform all the regular features of our Augmented Reality SDK with the advantages of using Unity3D: advanced rendering and better user interaction with the AR contents.
The Unity package includes our latest CraftAR Augmented Reality SDK for iOS and the respective AR SDK for Android.
Our CraftAR Unity Augmented Reality SDK comes with an editor plugin. This allows you to publish your scenes to CraftAR without ever leaving the Unity Editor.
Read our previous post about our CraftAR Unity SDK and this video to see some experiences you can create and publish with our SDK.
Our new Unity SDK 3.1 – which you can download for free from our website – supports Unity 5.1-5.3 and includes an exciting new feature, besides general improvements.
This new feature allows you to develop apps with Augmented Reality collections on the user’s device, in order to be able to scan AR items offline.
In which cases can it be extremely useful? For example, if you want to:
We have created a tutorial that explains the necessary steps in order to create collections, add Unity items to them, and generate and synchronize the bundles on the device.
Visit our Unity SDK documentation center for more information on all the features, how to use the Unity SDK to build an app, example code, requirements and more.
Please note that asset bundles created with those earlier versions of Unity that are not compatible with Unity 5.3 may have compatibility issues with our Unity SDK 3.1.

As always, we would love to hear your thoughts and get to see great experiences you create with our CraftAR Unity plugin.
