With the latest version of Safari (version 11) and a new update of our CraftAR Javascript HTML5 Library for Cloud Image Recognition, it is possible to open the camera directly in this browser to run image recognition experiences.
July has been an exciting month for the Catchoom user community, as our CraftAR product team has delivered improved versions of all our mobile SDKs — as well as our popular Cordova plugins for easy cross-platform development of Image Recognition and Augmented Reality apps.
First of all, our plugins got better inside. For example, the AR Cordova plugin includes our new, more stable tracking technology. On top of that, they also offer compatibility with the latest version of Apache™ Cordova.
Many developers are familiar with Catchoom’s native mobile CraftAR SDKs. These SDKs allow you to integrate our Image Recognition and Augmented Reality services into your iOS and Android applications.
But what happens to those who are interested in developing web apps? Good news: we offer a Cloud Image Recognition Javascript library as well. You can use this library to integrate our Image Recognition technology into your web and hybrid apps that run on the latest desktop Internet browsers as well as on Android and iOS devices.
Fall is typically the season of ‘change’ and sharpening your skills after the relaxed Summer months. Our Image Recognition and Augmented Reality SDKs just got smarter, too, just in time for developers returning from their holidays.
Read our blog post to learn about some exciting new improvements. Here’s to developing even better Image Recognition and AR apps this September!
First of all, we wish the Moodstocks team the best of luck on their new journey as part of Google’s image recognition endeavours. One of the reasons why we love Image Recognition and AR is that they can be used for so many different experiences on so many target objects, from photos to posters to product labels. (These customer projects perfectly prove that.)
However, a well-working Image Recognition or AR experience starts with selecting the right targets – in Catchoom’s terminology, the right reference images – for your experiences.
This is why we’ve collected some tips to help you prepare the right collection of images for our CraftAR Image Recognition solutions. We’ll also present you your new best friend, our extended Image Quality Rating.
Almost one year has passed since we launched our first plugins for easy cross-platform mobile development. That time, we only had a plugin for our Augmented Reality SDK. We’re excited to announce that we now offer Cordova plugins for all our SDKs, including Cloud Image Recognition and On-Device Image Recognition – and Augmented Reality, of course.
Imagine that you only need to develop your Image Recognition and Augmented Reality native app once for both iOS and Android. Now, that’s exactly what our CraftAR Cordova plugins are here for – and they are free to use while you develop.
